Join ‘Top Dog’ sponsor Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital and ‘Leader of the Pack’ sponsors Sunoco Logistics and Travis’ Red Bandana Brigade, plus Spokesdogs Annie and Lilly, for Fort Bend Cares 4th Annual Doggone Fun Run on Saturday, April 22, at our new event venue in the Village of Sawmill Lake in Sienna Plantation.
Spokesdogs Annie and Lilly aren’t just cute, they are specially trained therapy dogs that have provided over 300 hours of emotional support and smiles to patients at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. Owners of these adorable and hardworking Shih Tzus are Mike and Linda Ruggeroli of Richmond. Retirement prompted the Ruggerolis to welcome Lilly into their home and to investigate the steps required to train therapy dogs. Lilly, now five, has served as a pet therapy dog since she was four months old. Annie, now three, joined the family and also passed therapy training with flying colors. Annie and Lilly are no strangers to cuddles, so if you see them at the Doggone Fun Run show them some love!
Both Annie and Lilly are ‘pawsitively’ proud to help spread the word about Fort Bend Cares Doggone Fun Run to raise funds to support nonprofit organizations that serve to improve the lives of disadvantaged children in Fort Bend County. The Doggone Fun Run includes a competitive chip timed 5K Run (without dogs) and a 5K Run and a 1 mile Fun Run/Walk (with or without dogs), so there is something for every person and pup! Event swag includes a t-shirt and dog bandana while supplies last.
Fort Bend Cares has given over $1.5 million in grants. Help us get to $2 million!
