Join us April 14th for the Doggone Fun Run and Walk benefiting Fort Bend Cares.  This family-friendly event has something for everyone! You can choose to run or walk the event with family and friends.

For dog lovers, grab your leashes (with owners in tow) and begin your 5K. This event is for dogs and owners that plan to run or walk the entire 5K. If you are looking for shorter distance, a 1-Mile Run/Walk starts later in the morning. Enjoy a walk or run with your family or your favorite “pooch”.

Fun for the entire family!

The event has free admission and kicks off with a dog costume contest at 10:30 am. The fun goes until 3 pm and includes food trucks, performance dogs, pet adoptions and more!

Don’t forget to join our newsletter and be one of the first to know our Doggone Fun Run Plans for 2018!

Thank You

Big thanks to our ‘Top Dog’ sponsor Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital and ‘Leader of the Pack’ sponsors Sunoco Logistics and Travis’ Red Bandana Brigade, plus Spokesdogs  Annie & Lilly, and the Village of Sawmill Lake in Sienna Plantation, for supporting the Fort Bend Cares  4th Annual Doggone Fun Run

Spokesdogs Annie and Lilly aren’t just cute, they are specially trained therapy dogs that have provided over 300 hours of emotional  support and smiles to patients at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital.  Owners of these adorable and hardworking Shih Tzus are Mike and Linda Ruggeroli of Richmond.  Retirement prompted the Ruggerolis to welcome Lilly into their home and to investigate the steps required to train therapy dogs.  Lilly, now five, has served as a pet therapy dog since she was four months old.  Annie, now three, joined the family and also passed therapy training with flying colors. Annie and Lilly are no strangers to cuddles, so if you see them at the Doggone Fun Run show them some love!

Both Annie and Lilly are ‘pawsitively’ proud to help spread the word about Fort Bend Cares Doggone Fun Run to raise funds to support nonprofit organizations that serve to improve the lives of disadvantaged children in Fort Bend County. The Doggone Fun Run includes a competitive chip timed 5K Run (without dogs) and a 5K Run and a 1 mile Fun Run/Walk (with or without dogs), so there is something for every person and pup! Event swag includes a t-shirt and dog bandana while supplies last.

Fort Bend Cares has given over $1.7 million in grants. Help us get to $2 million!
