Our Founders

Dr. Robert L. McClendon

As a beloved member of the community, amazing husband and wonderful father, Dr. Robert McClendon is an inspiration for many.  Each of us not only grieves the loss of this tremendous individual but also for the loss his family suffers. Our prayers and thoughts are with the McClendon Family as they mourn the loss of this amazing soul.

With a 40-year career in Family Medicine, a long time participant of Boy Scouts of America and having diverse involvement in community nonprofits, Bob saw a need in Fort Bend County that existed beyond medical care. Along with his good friend, Jim Rice, they founded Fort Bend Cares to address needs for children and families. 12 years later Bob was still a driving force in making an impact in Fort Bend and maintained his positive contribution in the community. In the memoriam of his passing, the McClendon Family has asked that donations to Fort Bend Cares be given in lieu of flowers.
