Non-Profit Highlight: Access Health

By November 17, 2016Highlights

AccessHealth is a private, not-for-profit organization providing primary health care services for the low-income and uninsured.

Serving a vulnerable population, AccessHealth meets otherwise unmet health care needs, offering continuity of care throughout all life cycle stages. Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), medical case management, dental services, nutrition services, counseling, HIV services, outreach and enrollment, and patient education complement the clinical services. AccessHealth provides services at four clinics–in Richmond, Missouri City, Stafford, and Brookshire–as well as 12 WIC sites in Fort Bend and surrounding counties.

Last year, Fort Bend Cares gave AccessHealth a grant to provide obstetrical equipment for AccessHealth’s expanding prenatal care services. With support from Fort Bend Cares and other funding partners, AccessHealth’s OBGYN physician delivered 140 babies this past year.

This year, Fort Bend Cares once again provided a grant to help serve children in AccessHealth’s dental and pediatric clinics. New medical and dental equipment will enhance the quality of pediatric care provided to more than 6,000 children this year.

AccessHealth’s team of board certified pediatric providers specialize in providing health care to infants, children and adolescents through the age of 18. The providers, along with their support teams, are dedicated to the health of our community’s children.  Support from Fort Bend Cares and other partners enables AccessHealth to help ensure ALL children in Fort Bend County have access to quality, affordable health care.
